Soundproofing a Window

Hi. What's the simplest way to soundproof a window between me and my neighbour in a small bedroom? It's a rental. Thank you.

That's an easy question to answer. I would simply make a window plug using the 2" vinyl nitrile foam mat.
For example if your window were 3 foot X 3 foot, you would cut the foam 3' 1" X  3' 1" that way the window plug would fit tightly into the window frame (like a cork in a bottle) and thus block out the sound from the noisy neighbor.
Now granted, this will block out the light shining through the window, but if this is s bedroom window situation and at night, you really don't care if there is light coming into the room now do ya?
This window plug can easily be removed from the window when you wish to let in light or fresh air, and is light weight and can easily be stored when not in use.
Sherine, this would be the best and most economical way to soundproof your window. There are other options, but they are much more costly.
Thank you for your post.
