CHEAP! sound reduction for my single garage

 ???   right hears my problem in full.im moving into a new house this month and my perants have said i can have the garage for me and my friends to do some practis in there (i play electric guitar).i want to put up some VERY  CHEAP  form of sound reduction i did have some ideas but ive read the myths colum and now am lost in what to do,please help thnx. :)

did you find a good way? I'm in the same situation, need soundproofing for the garage - let me know if you did

The cheapest sound control can be had with asphalt roll roofing.  It is not recommended for homes or closed spaces, because it is oil based and will always outgas some odor....



It takes at least 5 layers to equal quality soundproofing, but used in conjunction with sound deadening board from the local builders suppy and drywall- serious sound blocking can be had.  Be sure to elimate cracks and crevices with acoustical caulk, otherwise sound will blow though the gaps.
