Singing in a walk-in closet
« on: January 25, 2004, 03:14:17 AM »
I live in a top floor corner unit above a cafe, so no one lives above, below or on one side. My only neighbor is thru the living room wall, one room away from the bedroom.

I have a bedroom walk-in closet that I've decided to record vocals in. I want to be able to feel free to sing strongly without bothering my neighbor. (The singing won't be amplified, just into the recording microphone)

I've already decided to remove the hinged wooden shutter closet doors & get 2 sets (double hanging them) of acoustical curtains for the closet opening.

My question is, do I need to put any soundproofing up on the walls or will the double curtains muffle the sound enough? (I'll have clothes hanging in there too)

Thanks for any advice!
