Soundproofing walls in a new kitchen

My wife and I are building a completely new kitchen.  Our home is butted right up against our neighbor's. We have a small problem of bass sound bleeding through the walls. Since we're building the kitchen from scratch, we removed the old cabinets and sheetrock from the wall and have exposed the studs. I was going to use the resilient channel method to isolate the new wall from the studs (which seem to be transmitting the bass sound), but I was told by someone at our building supply co. that that wouldn't work since the new cabinets would need to be nailed directly to the studs. Do you have any suggestions?
