I recently added a sunroom with a composite roof.We love the additional space and spend lots of time in the new room-Except when it rains,it sounds like we are sitting inside a drum. Please help.

The sound of rain falling on a composite roof is basically impact noise and the most effective way to combat impact noise is to float the ceiling inside of the sunroom, but a composite ceiling generally has not structural members and that makes floating with sound clips or resilient channels virtually impossible.
The only other thing I can think of is to somehow adhere and absorbent material such as closed cell foam to the underside of the composite panels on the top part of the roof. That would offer some sound protection, but I don't know how much. Impact noise is one of the toughest noises to combat in any situation. Please feel free to call if you have any questions or comments. Thanks for the posting.
