hi, just stumbled across your site today.. and i have an issue with my Airwell air con unit.
it's a reverse cycle ducted system. with the compressor unit sitting outside. the whine that comes on when the compressor started is annoying, especially for my neighbour who has their main living room on the other side of the fence opposite our compressor..
the unit sits 20cm away from the wall, fan facing the front, and compressor facing the wall. but being that the compressor needing good ventilation, i don't want to build any enclosures etc. i was thinking of lining the wall with some sound absorbing materials etc, would it help, being i am only putting it on the wall behind the unit, but the noise eminates from the back of the unit the front of the unit over to the neighbours.
please help...i'm waiting for the warrantly to run our before i ditch the unit and get something better.. in the meantime, it's driving me crazy and probably my poor neigbour too...
