Sound dampening a car exhaust
« on: November 30, 2004, 01:18:22 AM »
Hi, I have a 2.5" exhaust on my car which is a little too noisy for my liking. Couple of options, Dynamat which would go down on the floor of the car; or the sound proof tubing that you offer, which I'd wrap around the exhaust.

Thing is, exhaust temperatures reach about 200 degrees celcius, is the sound proof tubing heat resistant to that level? Also, it may cause the exhaust pipe itself to heat up. Have you had any experience with this? Advice?

Thanks!

Thanks Carlos,
the tubular insulation is not reliable for Kevins application. The upper use  temperature limit rating is 82 C.

Thanks again Carlos
