of an outboard engine.

at the very most I have a 3/4 inch leeway all around the inside of the cowling to add sound proofing material, I just don't know what to use...I'd prefer somthing that has an adhesive backing. And I'm trying to  drown out as much sound as possible...

Let me know what your thoughts are .

<B>The closed cell foam may work well for this- see
http://soundproofing.org/infopages/hoodliner.htm
or the "Liquid Soundproofing" at
http://soundproofing.org/sales/liquid.htm It can be brushed or sprayed and drys hard.
