building soundproof windows

Q: What is the most effective way to build doublepaned windows from wood and prevent moisture from condensing between the panes?

Q: What is the best way to seal the wood sash? I would prefer the natural beauty of the clear grain wood to be visible. Will varnish or stain off-gas and cloud the inside panes?
