Hi, im a home theater amateur and was wondering if using dynamat would help dampen and control sound in my room. I live in an apartment with limited options and dynamat comes with a discount in the company i work for. Its made for car audio acoustics and ive provided a link for anyone who doesnt know what this stuff is.

One kind of dynamat is basically asphalt and will always outgas, so would not be suitable.  The other kind is a material with a core of MLV (About a  $1.50 sq ft)  quite a bit cheaper than what they (Dynamat) gets!
