Practice space soundproof in duplex basement???
« on: October 05, 2005, 12:51:32 AM »
I have a rather loud band that is considering renting one side of a duplex to live and pratice in.

The house has a basement with a concrete firewall seperating the it and the other unit.

I know this depends on many factors, but should that concrete barrier be enough to soundproof my band from the other unit?

Thanks.

The concrete wall is one of the best for sound control- but for a band?  To answer your question: Probably not.

One way to find out play there or put a loud noise source, (I use a compressed gas boat horn) and go over there and see!
