sound proofing french doors
« on: October 14, 2005, 02:43:04 PM »
I just recently moved into a new apartment which i share with a roomate. My bedroom has a set of french doors that open into the living room area and they offer almost no protection from sound. Its so bad you can hear a conversation in the other room when people are speaking at a normal volume level. I don't need to completely soundproof the doors, but i would like some privacy, for my own sake and my roomates. What is the best way to do it? I've been poking around the internet for a couple of days now and i want something cheap like foam tiles, but i don't know if they will work. There are acoustic curtains but i don't know how well they work and they are more expensive. I need help!

ps. the dimensions are 79'' x 85''.
