Buzzing & rattling sheetrock in ceiling/wall
« on: February 13, 2006, 04:07:34 PM »
Help! There is major ventilation duct work outside my bedroom wall and it causes the ceiling and walls to buzz and rattle and squeal intermittently. It seems as though the sheetrock and molding may be loose and the movement of the duct is making them move against each other. How do I get my landlord to fix this? Would he be able to, without ripping apart the whole room??

Any help is much appreciated... this is keeping me awake at night!

Difficult to say what the fix is without seeing it.  It would certainly be easier to fix without the drywall there....You should talk to your landlord, but I doubt he'll do anything about it.  He may let you (at your own expense) tear down the drywall, fix the problem, or at least attempt to and repair the area (if you're handy or know someone who is, anyway.)  Sorry I couldn't be of more help..
