Author Topic: Blocking street noise.....  (Read 1370 times)

Hi,

I recently moved into an apartment in downtown Boston.  The apartment is on a very busy street so I hear all the cars, buses, even people yelling.  The noise is coming in through my industrial sized windows.  I am renting so I don't want to spend money installing new windows but is there some kind of sound blocking curtains or drapes I can get?  Would they be effective?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi Roman,

There are sound damping ready-made curtains and black(non see through) and clear vinyl sound barrier materials available at

And for a discussion of sound control option for windows see the discussion at
