soundproofing a loft room

We have a loft room that overlooks our family room and my husband listens to his music in there which travels down to the main floor of our house.  Is there anyone who might know of any suggestions to enclose.  Thank you, a desperate wife! ???

Hello desperate wife,

If you want your husband to be able to see throuh the material, I would suggest the clear vinyl sound barrier material shown in the article "Curtains/Drapes".  It is available in 48" wide or strips that are 8" or 12" wide.  See it listed/discussed right after our sound dampening finished curtains at http://www.soundproofing.org/infopages/curtains.htm
