Sound from central AC blower

Want to build an enclosed voiceover booth in my basement and utilize the existing central ac and blower for room ventilation. The unit itself makes a pretty loud racket and I understand that this type of machinery generates a low-frequency (is that right?) noise that's hard to control. This is the only real noise issue I have in the space other than standard household sounds (footsteps, ringing phones etc. Would you build a separate enclosure for the ventilation system and then build the booth? Any thoughts here on how to bring in quiet air and keep out all the other stuff would be appreciated. Thanks
