sound proofing a compressor

Hi,

I'm wondering where to find a compressor blanket......

I live on the top floor of a 3 floor condo building.  On the roof of the building are the heat pump compressors for each unit.  One of the compressors sits right over my livingroom area and it makes a loud buzzing/vibrating sound.  Needless to say it's driving me crazy.  Each compressor sits on a rubber mat with 2 2X4 wood pieces. (not a very good sound barrier)  The compressors are at least 12 years old.   Someone mentioned a compressor blanket.  Does any one know where I can get a compressor blanket?    Thanks a bunch......

You'll have to make your own as they are expensive, "Store Bought".   But what you need is more barrier to the sound coming from the unit.  SOme vibration pads might help too. Se  http://www.soundproofing.org/images/vibrationpads.htm#Vib
