Green glue on gypcrete floor with cracks?
« on: January 22, 2007, 08:59:30 AM »

We got some green glue to use on condo floor before a new carpet will be installed. We have OSB board and were going to put the gg on the subfloor and screw down the boards.

However after pulling up part of the old carpet we find Gypcrete with the old "padding", foam, stuck in clumps to it. Also some fairly deep as well as many smaller cracks.

Can we just scrape off the foam, apply the green glue as planned and make sure some gets into all the cracks? or should we use some caulk in the cracks and smooth over?

We need to finish it in 2 days, so don't want to wait for it to dry...
thanks for any suggestions..

Definately need to fill the cracks with acoustical caulk-  Green Glue is not a sound blocker like caulk.
