Car stereo/low frequency bass
« on: April 13, 2007, 03:17:53 AM »

Hello,

I am super frustrated with the constant, loud bass from car stereos.  I have been researching the site, and it seems that the Magnetite inside window treatment would be best for me.  The windows in our house are in good shape, however; they are vinyl and seem to transmit a LOT of sound.  My question is, realistically, how much reduction in sound can I expect from installing these?  Just wondering if the Magnetite plus dead air space was effective for low frequencies?

Thank You

Well, you can call company and ask for acoustical test data, but I doubt they'll give you any.

A window plug isn't gonna make the thump go away, but it will be better than what you have now.  If it's reasonably priced, give it a try.
