Sound proofing band practice room.
« on: May 14, 2007, 10:02:19 PM »
I am planning on converting my garage (made out of cinder blocks) into a practice room for my rock band.

The dimesions are as follows:
- 2.6 metres wide
- 5 metres long
- 2.5 metres high

I would like to know what type of materials I'm going to need to sound proof the practice room.
How much would it cost approx?

Any help would be great,

thanks.

I assume you are from across the pond using meters ey. Well It really depends on how good of a job you want, and how good you want it to look. There is a lot of information on this site, but I would never do everything he recommends, because it is really expensive. So how soundproof do you want it? How nice do you want it to look? and do you only want it soundproofed or do you also want it to be acoustically tuned for things like recording and what not? also are there any windows? and how many and what kind of doors? Hopefully I will remember to check for your reply to this. Honestly a soundproofing forum isn't the kind of thing I plan to keep up with.
