Advice on building band room
« on: October 14, 2007, 02:47:38 AM »
Building a detached band practice room and would like to make it as sound proof as possible so that I can play music late into the night.  Have just the studs up right now and trying to figure out the most effective way of reducing the noise.  I was considering using some sound proof insulation and then a layer of soundboard and thick drywall with green glue in between.  Does anyone know if the soundboard-gg-drywall combo works well?  Better than two layers of drywall with the gg?  Also, are there any particular types of insulation that anyone can recommend?

Also, would adding a resilient channel make a significant difference?

Thanks in advance for the help!
