I am a pipefitter in the construction industry. I have just started a new job in las vegas and the prints call for all of the 3 5/8" metal stud walls to have resilient clips on one side. They say they are 1/2" deep and 24" on center perpendicular to the vertical studs. My question is: How do these prevent noise? Is an extra 1/2" of dead air space going to accomplish that much??? Thanks for any input!
