Control Room and Live Room Soundproofing Help
« on: January 28, 2008, 01:59:50 AM »
Hey, I am currently creating a control room and Live room in two joining office spaces.  I dont want to tear down any existing drywall but instead want to add to what is already there.

I was planning on just putting a piece of sound deadening board and drywall.  Will this be enough to not disturb neighboring offices?  If not is there another method that will dampen the sound more.

Thank You

HI,
It really depends on how loud the sound will be in decibels and also how much bass it will have.
This will determine how much soundproofing you need. :)

i am doing research into studios at present, and green glue seems to be king at the moment
but there ore other things to do and you can always do more depending on budget.
one is a furring channel, so basicall run some strips of timber or steel stud down the existing wall fill with rockwall insulation the two layers of drywall with green glue in betwween.
also seel up all cracks. think water proofing.
door seal, an or double door.
