Don't know if this exists as a ready-made helmet.  You can make your own out of Super Soundproofing Mat - closed cell vinyl nitrile acoustic foam.  It's kind of like making a "Policy Hat" - encloses the entire head and has only a mouth and eye holes (that way you can hear and see everything but cannot hear any feedback).  For the material  to use see the first product shown at  http://www.soundproofing.org/sales/prices.html
Best results have been obtained with the 1" thickness.  1/2" thickness has also been used inside a motorcycle helmet.

Looking for a 'cone of silence', like in "Get Smart"?

http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.meatheadshockey.ca/documents/cone_of_silence2.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.meatheadshockey.ca/documents/30.html&h=86&w=130&sz=23&tbnid=K9YCDR7BWLUJ:&tbnh=86&tbnw=130&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcone%2Bof%2Bsilence&hl=en&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=1&ct=image&cd=3

Not sure why you'd want a mask, but good earplugs + good hearing protector earmuffs will get you about 40 dB reduction.  Probably a lot better than anything you're contemplating....

Hi,thank you both for your replies!Actually, this is for me to help drown out symptoms of tourettes,I'm very uncomfortable going places because of this. This sound proof mask,no matter how silly it would look could really help,at least thats how I feel.Would either of these two options, that you posted be good for my problem? Thanks

Actually, we've been secretly working on such headwear and if you are serious, we'd like you to test some of our creations.

Send me email at sales@soundproofing.org to discuss.

You can do it by yourself by using some acoustic material in your helmet

I have successfully constructed a sound-reducing mask using a gas mask, breathing tubes, plaster of paris and acoustic paint.  Check out the construction at www.silentmicrophone.blogspot.com

Richardcd,
Very creative!!! how much does the finished mask weigh?
and what do you think was the overall cost?

Looks like this would work for MMS who posted about tourettes issues a few posts back.
