treadmill vibration
« on: January 23, 2009, 10:18:13 AM »
I am trying to find a product that will work for my particular problem. We just bought a treadmill and we have a small house so it is in the bedroom across the hall. My husband tried it out last night after I went to bed. Although I could not hear the treadmill itself, I could hear thump, thump, thump noises from my husband's feet hitting the treadmill. And as he speeds up the thumps get faster. What I hear reminds me of hearing a very loud heartbeat. Does anyone have any suggestions on a product that would solve this problem, or atleast decrease it? I am not sure if this would be considered a vibration problem or what. Thanks

This would actually be classified as impact noise.

Are these rooms, bottom floor on concrete slab? and what type of flooring do you have? Wood floors or carpet?

Also is there a door for the room that has the treadmill and is it closed when the treadmill is in use?
And is your bedroom door closed as well?
Also are the doors hollow core or solid core doors? most common interior doors are hollow core.
Here are a few link to review while we help determine what solution will yield the best reduction.
This link will address the treadmill.
This link will address the doors.

when you answer the questions above I will be able to give you a recommendation.
Thank you.
