I hope someone can point me in the right direction in the following situation:

I have a ground floor flat. There is an internal dividing wall between living room and bedroom which is of brick construction (single brick thickness). I believe that impact noise from the flats above (children playing/slamming doors etc) is being 'thrown' into these rooms. I would like to apply something to the wall to absorb the sound, but dont want to go to the trouble of attaching batons and plaster boards - the wall contains electrical sockets, and there is a door between the two rooms.

Is there a reasonably simple solution?
thanks!
