Author Topic: How to block noise/vibrations from my bedroom  (Read 654 times)

Didn't know the street would be this busy with loud trucks, day and part of the night. Makes dual-paned windows seem like they're not even there. Can't sleep, tried 2 sleep machines on full blast, ear plugs, headphones, and even blocking the sliding glass door with a mattress. Seems like the noise penetrates the house. I could live with just one quiet room, a bedroom. I'm renting so what should I do before I lose what's left of my sanity.

Thanks, diana

Im sorry, but since you rent and you have already tried all that!!!  MOVE!!! as you can already see, not much of a reduction will you ever see unless extreme soundproofing is done throughout the rental unit.

If they will allow you to add soundproofing materials and new drywall, along with adding a acrylic insert or second window to one room then you could create a quiet room from the street noise.
