widow a/c unit problem in dogs room. help!
« on: February 08, 2010, 02:28:47 AM »
i have a standard window a/c unit mounted through drywall in my dogs room in the garage. Vibration from the unit carries through the wall into the bedroom next door. Its not that loud but when you get close to the wall in the room next door its very noticable. Is there any type of rubber or somthing i can maybe put around the unit in the wall to absorb the vibration? any ideas?

Well if you have the space between the wall and the unit you can wrap the unit with isolation tape then reinstall, this will reduce some vibration. This is 1/8" thickness, if you have more space then that we might be able to take a better approach.
