AudiMute Peacemaker VS MLV
« on: February 28, 2010, 03:39:56 PM »
I have come across this product linked here:
http://www.audimutesoundproofing.com/sound-insulation-sound-proof-material-soundproofing-insulation.aspx
from a company called Audimute. They claim that their product is better then MLV because it is lighter and cheaper and 'better for the environment' They say that dollar for dollar Peacemaker out-performes MLV.

But what I want to know is at the same thickness, (about 1/8 inch) is 1pound/ Square Foot MLV better then the 3.2mm peacemaker product? Cause I found MLV for very cheap on this website:

http://www.soundisolationstore.com/products/mass-loaded-vinyl/1-pound-per-square-foot-mlv/mass-loaded-vinyl-mlv-1-lb.html

Thanks a lot,
Kevin

4' x 25' 100sqft.
$150.00 a roll vs. $109.00 a roll

MLV MLV MLV / 1lb per sqft. flexible sound barrier STC 26 is all that matters....

and our company will beat any advertised price.
Give me a call and we'll do it for less.

The pricing comes out to be nearly equal if you figure in shipping costs. So at about the same price, which product would be better?

If installed correctly they both should perform the same. Make sure the people you buy from explain the various methods to install and material performance based on the install.

Keep in mind, you can buy the best materials on the planet and if you install them incorrectly they wont deliver full performance or work at all in some cases.

Where are you loacted? why dont you contact me and give me a shot at quoting you since your here asking my advise.
