New Roof time...and I live too near an airport
« on: April 07, 2001, 05:10:21 PM »
I live in a 25 year old home that is under the flight path.
I need a new roof, and most of the house has cathedral ceilings,
so later there won't be access to redo, or add.
So, while I have the chance...what suggestions do people have (without
breaking the bank) that I should consider when re-roofing to reduce
the airplane noise.   I read on the site something aobut an extra layer
of asphalt roofing material...but does this imply an air space between the layers?
Any thoughts would be appreciated

Cathedral celings and airplanes OH MY GOD. In Toronto around the airport many homes have different roof styles, flat, cathedral, hansard, normal. Because of this we can not launch a class action suit. Aparantly the people with cathedral celings are the only ones affected bad enought ot do this.
