Solar ac/dc inverters
« on: April 18, 2010, 10:05:33 PM »
I did a keyword search but came up with nothing on how to quiet solar inverters.  We have an off grid system, just installed and the inverter makes a hum, about 3 times as loud as a refrigerator. Neither the company I contracted with or the manufacture have any solid recommendations to offer.  I have spoken with others in the solar business, and I'm not alone thinking that there should be some remedy by now since solar has been developing now for some time.  Apparently all inverters makes some hum.  I guess it just depends on how much it bothers you.
Anyone with any suggestions?

thanks.
