Small studio

I am currently embarking on a plan to convert my bedroom into a little recording studio for around £5000. I am thinking about the Behringer MX8000 desk, with acouple of ADATs, Yamaha NS 10s etc. My room is approx 3mx4m, carpeted and has a window. It also needs some soundproofing, what would you reccomend?
P.S.If there is anywhere you recommend that has decent gear at decent prices across the internet please tell.

Window sand doors are where to start.  You may want to get a copy of the EPA reprint:  "Quieting: A practical Guide to Noise Control", we've reprinted it as a public service and it's available for just postage and the photo copying costs - $15 PP ($9 more foreign). You can order from the web site with your credit card! http://www.soundproofing.org/infopages/EPAmanual.htm
We also have an addendum about "Double Drywall" using resilient channels we put with it.
You may want to get the book and a "Sample Kit" of our products to see if you can match them locally. It's an additional $10, but you get a refund coupon. Go to: http://www.soundproofing.org/sales/samplekit.htm
