Soundproofing bedroom from piano in living room
« on: July 26, 2001, 05:41:49 PM »
I am trying to soundproof my bedroom so that noise from the piano in the living room doesn't come through.  I have to sleep during times people are playing.  I hung a solid core door but noticed no difference.  I don't want to hear any piano noise.

No noise?  Headsets may be the best answer!  We sell a lot to Mom's who can't stand the kids praciticing...  You may be able to do some serious soundproofing of the common wall as described in the link below.  The solid core door probably didn't help because so much sound is coming through the wall- or it has major gaps around it.  See the door article at http://www.soundproofing.org/infopages/soundproofing_doors.htm
