I live in a single family house with a side attached to my neighbour's house and I hear noise (TV, music, talking) thru the common wall. I'm just renting and my owner is not willing to do anything about it, so I'm considering soundproofing the wall myself, but I have limited budget. I'm thinking about getting this kind of foam mat: SSP Foam Mat 1" or 2" thick by 48" wide w/PSA which I guess I could just affix them to the wall. I assume that would be the most convenient and easiest way, since I'm not the owner and I can't do any major construction to the house. I wonder if that'll work. I really need a solution as I can't stand my neighbour's noise anymore.

it would be an expensive solution, you would have to cover the entire wall. floor to ceiling / wall to wall.
