Here's a problems I can't seem to figure out.
Keeping the original door and frame, How do I install the second door frame to the resilient channels ( image 1 to image 2?) If the second door frame is attached to anything but the resilient channels, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of decoupling the walls, ceilings, and floating floor?

Well, I can't see your pictures either but I think I know your scenario.  A perfectly decoupled room is almost impossible to achieve in reality.  But there are different degrees of isolation. 

Since you didn't build double walls, you'll need to attach the door to the existing framing - extend it if necessary.  Some noise will be transferred through the structural connection, but not much.

i know this guy's situation happened a year ago and everything, but just out of curiosity... how much weight could rc1 support? would it be possible to attach the hinges of atleast a 3/8in.mdf+1in.foam+5/8in.mdf+thinfoam door to a thick board which would, in turn, be screwed through the drywall and into the res channels? the door would be sealed up against weather stripping that would be attached to thick boards which would, in turn, be screwed to res channels around the opening.  It wouldnt look horribly normal, but it'd be functional.  If the screws arent enough to hold the door to the channel for some reason, small bolts and thin nuts could be used, since the backside of the edges should be easily accessible.

It wouldn't be a good idea.  The door would eventually coming crashing down.  If you used a light door, you'd be defeating your purpose - the TL of the door would be crap. 

Better to take a little extra noise, attach the hinges rigidly and be able to put a good, thick heavy door in the jamb...
