Advantages of Cellulose Insulation

What you may not know is that insulation that involves cellulose is sprayed; the advantage of spraying is that there would be no drooping or sagging as in the case of fiberglass batts. And a complete coverage will ensure that there is no flow of air and heat from one room to another. Furthermore, with  cellulose insulation all plumbing and wire holes are also sealed. With these holes covered, you can rest assured that you would be comfortable during extreme cold or warm weather.
It is not only heat insulation that you get by opting for cellulose method, it would also help to prevent the noise pollution.

Sorry to say, Cellulose is about as good as a popcorn ceiling when it comes to sound control...
Thermal value is one thing, but in terms of soundproofing its STC value is so low its hardly quantifiable and its NRC value is less than fiberglass.
