Mustwall Vs Iso T
« on: October 20, 2011, 09:59:20 AM »
Hi,
I am going to have soundproofing done on my four bedroom semi-detached house. I am currently trying to decide between two companies who have presented similar prices and, at least to me, similar approaches to the job. However, one is going to use material called MUSTWALL and the other will use Iso T.
Does anyone have experience with these materials and could recommend which one might be better?
Many thanks.

I dont have first hand experience with the exact materials you posted. However I have read the MSDS on them and if the ISO T is the mineral wool pressed boards than I would go with the MUSTWALL. The value of these products vary, one is a blocker(mustwall) the other more so an absorbing product(iso t)....

Keep in mind that a soundproof wall is NOT just a single material assembly, usually it take multiple principles the achieve a higher reduction value depending on the noise you are trying to reduce.
Also, remember that materials only dictate the potential quality of the assembly but the installation is 90% of your results!!! you are building a fish tank so to speak...everything MUST be sealed airtight!
