jacuzzi and pool pumps, generators..etc room sound proofing ?
« on: November 06, 2011, 05:17:39 PM »
Hi,

The pumps and the generators will be installed next week, and i'm afraid of it being too loud because the generator room(indoor) is next to the jacuzzi and i would like to insulate it the best possible way so the sound won't be any bother. I got no knowledge about how it should be done and how. I've read here about the box but won't that trap heat ? anyway i really need all the help i can get, ill post a pic of the generator room if it helps. Thanks

Give me a call when you have a few minutes to talk. My contact info is below.

You have 2 methods of sound control:
1) simply line the room with our SSP foam mat 1" thickness
or
2) cotton fiber insulation with MLV stapled to the studs, taped and sealed.

which system you do will depend on the construction of the room.
