Hello from Thailand!
« on: December 19, 2011, 02:47:39 PM »

Hello everyone,
My name is Jonathan and I live in a condo in Samut Prakan which is just south of Bangkok in Thailand.
The noises that affects me are low-bass music from vehicles and skateboarders, both from the adjoining supermarket car park. My windows are cheap aluminum-framed single-pane glass and I have read on this forum about various solutions which I wasn't previously aware of such as window plugs, internal windows, new walls etc. I have to rule out double or triple glazing as, despite owning the unit, I can't remove the existing windows.
The problem I have is that the material I need are very hard to find in Thailand and I'm writing on the long-shot that someone on here has any experience or tips. There are no companies offering internal windows for me to buy, no companies like ******** selling mass-loaded vinyl or green glue caulk, I can find sheet acrylic but no magnetic or metal tape to make my own internal windows.
Best regards

You can do the acrylic system, you will just have to figure out how you can make the airtight seal....find a type of framing and a pvc tape and make a compression seal against the acrylic and window box.

Thank you for the swift response, I apologize for mentioning the name of a company, I didn't mean to break any rules on my first post!
