I found a local glass supplier that quoted $80 for 1/4 laminated glass for  58" X 23". A sound proofing company quoted $550 for the same window so I'm thinking of doing this myself since it is a fixed window. I've been trying to locate some window frame manufacturers but haven't had much luck. Does anyone know of something like a kit that can simply be cut to size for the frame vinyl or aluminum maybe?

See if the company that you purchased the window from can install it, if not you can buy quarter molding and install it yourself using H2U window glazing or similar product. Make sure you use silica packs to prevent moisture in the air space.

Hi Randy,

Thank you for the info.
I haven't purchased anything yet. It is a 4 yr old house so I haven't purchased windows or glass from anyone yet. I'm simply researching for suppliers so I can figure out the cost for do-it-yourself windows.

we offer a removable system that uses magnetic tape but I really dont like the idea of using real glass but you could use our system and then add a couple securing tabs to prevent someone from just randomly removing the glass.

read about it here:
