Soundproofing aquarium stand
« on: February 12, 2012, 08:43:01 PM »
I have an aquarium stand/sump that has some pump noise and running/trickling water noise.  The back of the stand is open.

My initial thought would be to use the sound deadening foam on the sides/doors and have a curtain of mass loaded vinyl across the back.  Would this help or is there some other option?

Your right on track, make sure you try to seal the MLV to the stand as best as possible.

Not sure if you have anything suitable.

I have a submerged pump that I need to dampen/deaden vibration from.  Are any of the sound proof foam or vibration dampening mats both waterproof and non-toxic?  Thanks.
