Soundproofing advice

I am going to build a band practice studio in my basement and need to soundproof it.
I am doing the walls and ceiling w double 5/8 drywall w green glue between.  Sound clips on ceiling and was also going to decouple the walls as well but I heard I don't have to since the stud framing will it be attached to the foundation walls hence they are already decoupled...

Will I gains in anything by decoupling the walls too?

Also, should I expect similar or better results w the doubled 5/8 and gg over quietrock 525?

Thanks!

your walls will be attached to the ceiling joist if you are not running new joist off the new walls...or you use a special wall bracket(we can special order).  Therefore you should at least channel the walls if your securing walls to existing ceiling joist.
I recommend you use Mass loaded vinyl stapled to studs/joist than use double 5/8" drywall with green glue...
