Diminishing Returns
« on: December 21, 2012, 04:13:56 PM »
Hi Guys,

I'm going to build another wall inside of my practice room after I remove the drywall on the inside of the room.  I'm thinking of then attaching MLV to the studs (1 5/8" metal stud ), then sound clips, hat channel, drywall , GG, then drywall.
Although the room is only 6' x 10', is it worth installing an extra layer of drywall or two, or would it be a diminishing return vs the added expense?
Thanks

Install the first layer of drywall seal and assess the results , if you want to achieve an additional 15%-20% reduction add the second layer with green glue.
