"Party" wall
« on: January 26, 2013, 08:28:49 PM »
I share a common wall with my neighbor in the next townhouse, and my TV and stereo are against that wall.  Unfortunately, there is no where else to put it.  My neighbor feels and hears the thump of my TV and stereo bass, even when they are at a low volume.

I just moved in, and I know that drapes, more furniture and rugs on the tile floor will help, but what else can I put behind the TV or in the room to deaden the sound? It's a 55" DLP on a stand so there is room behind it.  I can't do any type of construction, but a removable panel, hopefully decorative, would be good.

Thanks.

If sound is coming out of the TV and not a sound bar you will need to put the tv stand on anti vibration pads to break the connection from the floor. Do this first and is you need additional sound blocking you can use our mass loaded vinyl with closed cell foam on the floor and wall behind the TV.
