Cavity wall insulation. Does it carry noise through?
« on: April 18, 2013, 12:01:43 AM »
I am considering getting cavity wall insulation pumped into the cavity surrounding my house between the inner leaf concrete block and external brick.

The material will contain beads, and I think the product name is Eco-bead.

Will adding this material increase noise transmission across the cavity, or will it remain the same?

Thanks!

I have never worked with this product, but from what I have read it should not cause an increase in sound transmission as long as the beads are not tightly packed in the wall.
