Good Quality Doors

So I need to buy 2 doors for separate DW/DD/GG music rooms.  I'm not doing double doors, so that's not an option.  I'm looking for reasonably priced doors that will do the job.  I like a lot of simpson and trimlite doors, but their solid wood doors are 2K where I'm from, so they're not an option :(

I'm trying to figured out whether to go exterior entry or interior entry and which manufacturers are good.  I hear lots of pros and cons about both materials (steel or wood)and various companies.  What are your thoughts or experiences?

its all about the mass of the door, the heavier the door the better the sound reduction. The problem your going to face is the jamb itself will remain the weak point with a single framed system.Did you build the room out with a decoupled system?

+1 to Randy's post.

I have recently released one of my private (clients only) documents to the public in the GearSlutz forum. Have a look here:

Review that thread and come back here or post there with any questions you may have. I hope that you will find it helpful.
You CAN build it yourself.  ;)

Cheers,
