Our house is really bad when it comes to insulation of noise. Often sound in the form of talking loudly comes from out of my room and snoring comes in rendering me unable to sleep. So my question is what is the best type of sound proofing I can get for this? Also I should mention the wall in question where the noise is leaking is plasterboard and ripping down the wall is out of the question.

I'm currently looking at these:

I don't know what would be best? Heavily considering the first one but it's meant for cars? Would it still function the same way?
I'm open to anymore suggestions too.
Thanks.

for blocking sound it is all about mass the heavier you make the wall the more sound reduction your going to see, so the Mass loaded vinyl or the plaster board are going to be better then the dampening sheets for cars.
The first thing you need to do is address the door for any leaks at the bottom and around the jamb.
This needs to be sealed air tight when in the closed position.
Sound will always go to the area of least resistance.

Alright, so I assume the mass loaded vinyl would be better than the plasterboard, since it's heavier I assume? Hence why it is called the mass loaded vinyl. Is there a specific name for heavy sound proof insulation? And I'll be sure to make it air-tight!
