Soundproofing bedroom window
« on: May 01, 2014, 07:13:20 PM »
I am renting an apartment in the UK and wish to soundproof the bedroom window from outside traffic noise.   What is the best course of action and will this action reduce air flow in the bedroom?

Here is a link to our magnaseal system

And yes you will have to close the windows in order to reduce sound.....so no air flow from the window.....

Looks good.  That would not do too much damage to the walls around the window.  If I wanted to use a window plug to start with, what should it be made of and where could I buy it?  The window is about 45 inches by 46 inches and the sill inside is about 10 inches.

Yes a plug will also work, just not sure if you can get this material in the UK. The shipping cost might be cost prohibitive.
You could build one out of multiple layer of sheetrock but you would have to figure out how to create the airtight seal...
