Magnetseal Questions

We are looking at installing some magnetseal windows to block out some migrating bird noise which keeps us up every night and have a couple of questions.

  • The window frames are quite large, dimensions are 1570x1260 (5.15ft x 4.13ft), what would the suggested acrylic thickness be for a window this size?
  • As seen by the photo below, there is no external window sill for the acrylic to sit on, will the magnets alone hold something of this size?  The inner sill is around 100mm (~4 inches) so we would preferably like to keep them external unless there isn't another way, also we would like to keep the install as idiot proof as possible :).

you should use 3/8" thickness for the acrylic.

If your going to do a flush mount you will need to add an additional piece of wood to support the acrylic.
The magnetic tape is a 12 lb pull so it will not support the entire weight of the panel.
