Soundproofing New Construction Bedrooms (on a budget)
« on: October 23, 2014, 08:53:22 PM »
We are building a new cottage in the mountains and it has tongue and groove pine throughout the great room/kitchen/dining room (also a very open floor plan).  It will look great, but we know that the amount of wood will cause sound to echo throughout.  Also, there is a garage directly underneath the Master Bedroom.

With that, the bedrooms are the areas that we want to soundproof to allow for restful slumber amidst all of the activity that will be going on in the bigger open areas.  We would really appreciate some good advice on the best way to soundproof all of the inside walls, ceilings, and floors, but are looking for the most cost-effective solution as we are on a budget ;)

Any advice and specific products to use would be most appreciated.

Thanks

this would be to much to post on our forum due to the forum limitations.

You have a tremendous amount of options so it would be best to contact me direct and we can go over the basic principles and let you decide what will suit your needs for each area your looking to soundproof.

I look forward to speaking with you on this project.
